Questions about Heaven?

Get answers here.

What will heaven be like and how do you get there?

Most people wonder what heaven will be like, and what they must do to get there. I have good news for you! The Bible gives all the answers you need about heaven. But let me ask you two questions to get started. Read each carefully and consider your response.

1) If you were to die today, do you know for certain that you would go to heaven?

2) If you were to die today and meet the Lord at the gates of heaven and He were to ask you why He should let you in, what would you say?

Now I will give you the answers from the Bible, and you can check them with your answers and see how you did.

The first good news is that God wrote the Bible so you can know for certain right now if you are going to heaven. 1 John 5:13 says, "these things are written so you can know you have eternal life." God doesn't want you to go through life always wondering and hoping you will go to heaven. He wants you to know today what you must do to go to heaven. So here it is.

Understand that heaven is a free gift; it is not earned or deserved.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." (Ephesian 2:8,9)

Understand that no sin is allowed in heaven.

But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life." (Revelation 21:27)

Understand that everyone has sinned and is disqualified from heaven.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23)

Understand that everyone deserves to go to hell which is a huge problem.

“For the wages of sin is death," (Romans 6:23a)

Understand that God solved that problem through Jesus Christ's death on the cross.

“But God demonstrates his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

Understand that we must believe that this is true and then ask God to save us from hell and give us the gift of eternal life.

“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:9,10,13)

How do you ask for this gift of eternal life? You can say these words out loud to God, "Dear God, I know I am a sinner, and I deserve to go to hell. I know that you love me and Jesus died on the cross for all my sins. Right now I want you to save me from hell, forgive me of all my sins, give me the gift of eternal life, and make me a child of God. I ask this in Jesus name, amen."

If you sincerely meant what you asked then you are now one of God's children, and you can know with certainty that will go to heaven when you die.
