Life Groups

Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24

Harvest Life Groups

Life Groups revolve around a few basic objectives: Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Community and Service. They exist for people to experience a transformational relationship with Jesus Christ by engaging in fellowship to pray, encourage, exhort, and learn from God’s Word and one another.

Email us and our office will contact you regarding the groups available.

Why a Life Group and what do they do?

In life groups, people study the Bible together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. They pray, care for one another, and are missed if they aren’t there. Life groups can transform a large church into a small intimate congregation. Life groups are not a program that is scheduled tightly around an academic setting or curriculum. Instead, they are a process of experiencing life together over time, in many settings and situations. Life groups are not just about simple community; they are places in which to build authentic disciples of Jesus in the context of community. That is exactly what Jesus intends for us.  If you want to know Jesus more and live for him with your whole life, then a life group is the place for you.

How much time will the meetings take?

Life groups meetings are usually around two hours long. There is a social time for snacks, visiting, fellowship, building community by getting to know one another, and then an hour for study.

Will I have to talk or can I just listen?

Life groups are like family. Sometimes you may want to talk, and sometimes you will just want to sit and listen. No one is forced to talk or to lead the group. Everyone moves at a different pace and you will be allowed to do just that.

Will I have to pray out loud?

No. Each person is allowed to grow at their own pace. We never want to force someone to do something they are not comfortable with at this time. Hopefully each person will grow and eventually be comfortable in praying with, and for, the group.

How much do I have to know about the Bible?

None. One of the goals of life groups is to learn about the Bible through discussion, reading and sharing God’s Word.

When do groups meet?

Most groups meet weekly or every other week on Tuesday or Thursday evenings between 6:30-8:30 pm. However we have quite a few other groups meeting almost every day of the week! If your availability is limited, but you would like to sign up, we will do our best to find a group for you!

Is there a commitment?

Groups meet weekly or bi-weekly during mid-September to mid-May. The time commitment is not large, but we do hope you will stay with your group for at least a year. There are, however, easy ways to move out of your group should you feel the need to do so.

Finding and Joining A Life Group

Stop by the Ministry Information Desk and fill out a Life Group form. Our goal is to get you connected to a group as quickly as possible. Due to scheduling and leader availability, it may take a period of time to start your group. We appreciate your patience and will keep you informed while the process develops.

You may email Debbie and our office will contact you regarding the groups available.
