We're meeting

Harvest Impact - Jr. High Mission Team

June 14th-18th

9:00am - 2:00pm

Missions is at the heart of much of what we do here are Harvest and in our youth ministries.  We want students to be used by God at home and around the world for His Glory!  Since we would love to see more and more students consider missions as a calling, I have felt the Lord directing me to seek a mission’s experience for Jr. High students at Harvest.  2021 marks the third year we have offered a Jr. High missions trip called Harvest Impact.  This is a local missions trip focused around our summer Vacation Bible School (VBS) Program, June 14-18, 2021.

Here are some of the aspects of Jr. High Harvest Impact that make it unique:
•    Starting this year, Harvest Impact is a requirement for students entering 7th & 8th grade in the fall of 2021 that want to participate in VBS.
•    Specialized training to help Jr. High students be a better VBS worker.
•    Special t-shirt to identify the missions trip students.
•    Special VBS assignments with more responsibility than an untrained student would normally get.
•    Daily meetings after VBS to debrief, pray, and do a Bible study together.
•    We will be looking at the mission trip students as missionaries and expect more from them.
•    A day at Six Flags on Saturday, June 19th to celebrate their service!

Students entering 7th through 9th grade can participate in Jr. High Harvest Impact.  The cost is $40 and includes everything from the t-shirt, Six Flags ticket, Bible study book, and training.  This is an awesome opportunity to get your feet wet in missions without having to stay overnight somewhere.  I hope many Jr. High students will join this team and be used by God in the life of a child during VBS!

All students need to fill out a Student Volunteer Application, register, and be available for one of the mandatory training sessions on June 3rd at 6:30 pm or June 7th at 10 am.  Students will be trained in how to work with children, and how to share the Gospel, as well as training in their area of service.  Ministry specific training (e.g. crafts or games) is at the discretion of those ministry leaders and will be scheduled by them.
